13 April 2006
Mumbai: ORG Informatics Ltd. (BSE: ORG Informat), a leading system integrator in IT and telecom, today announced having bagged a Rs425-crore order for MTNL convergent billing system from Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL). Post this deal ORG will supply, install, commission and maintain convergent billing and CRM system on turnkey basis for MTNL.

ORG informatics says that this implementation will revolutionise the complex billing and customer care systems at MTNL. This solution will enable MTNL to service its customers with futuristic services like WLL, PSTN, Data Services, ATM, internet / broadband services, etc.

Business support systems (BSS) are the strategic link to an operator's critical customer usage data. The existing legacy systems have resulted in multiple BSS, performing similar functions for each disparate product or service. The solution delivers a total convergent BSS solution that addresses present challenges while providing a roadmap to a fully convergent future.

Some key component systems which are a part of this solution are interconnect billing, eCRM system, contact center (IVRS), revenue accounting & assurance and enterprise backup system.

Addressing the need of a convergent BSS, Ajoy Khanderia, managing director and chief executive officer, ORG Informatics said, "A convergent billing system can automate and simplify key customer service tasks enabling greater productivity. Solution enables the operators current and future BSS needs to be seamlessly accommodated in any convergent voice, video, data, or content environment."

ORG Informatics was founded by the late Dr Vikram Sarabhai, pioneer of Indian space technology, in 1960.
