PMC-Sierra India to hire 50 people news

Chennai: Setting up its technology centre in Bangalore, PMC-Sierra India Private Limited has announced its plans to increase head count by 50 this year. The company currently has around 20 people.

The Indian company is a subsidiary of PMC-Sierra Inc that provides broadband communications and storage semiconductors. The American company has named Arun Bellary as the Indian company's managing director.

Prior to joining PMC-Sierra, Bellary was founder of WiaX Systems Inc, a company focused on WiMAX broadband wireless access. Prior to WiaX, he was chairman and CEO of Metro-OptiX, which was based in India. Bellary's career has included senior executive positions at Ericsson and Pirelli Optical Products, and technical management positions at DSC Communications (Alcatel), Fujitsu and AT&T Bell Labs.

"We have an aggressive strategic plan to grow our operation in this market, which includes building a sales and marketing force in addition to technology engineers who will be a key part of PMC-Sierra's worldwide product development teams," said Bellary.
