Global customer care and billing solutions provider
CSG Systems will offer a new real-time, continuous communication
solution designed to better equip telecommunications,
content and e-commerce companies to enable anytime, anywhere
voice, video, data and content services for their customers.
Called
the CSGÒ service broker it is designed to address
the spontaneous nature of today's telecommunications consumer
as they use more services on-demand and on-the-fly from
downloading ring tones, playing games on the mobile phone,
to purchasing on-demand video and more.
It
is designed to communicate information in real time about
consumer activity and content services transactions through
functions such as advice of charge, authentication, authorisation,
session control and more using protocols such as Diameter,
which is widely used in IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)
transactions.
"With
the roll-out of advanced networks around the world, consumers
expect access to services like games, video, SMS messages
to be instantaneous, no matter where they are or what
device they choose," said Paul Hughes, vice president
of communications Software Strategies Research at the
Yankee Group.

has placed increasing pressure on telecom service provider's
OSS / BSS infrastructure to respond to these requests
whether they are data or video, prepaid or postpaid, within
milliseconds. Vendors like CSG Systems, with its service
broker platform, have recognized this need and are delivering
solutions to help operators effectively address this challenge."
In
fact, Yankee Group estimates that mobile commerce alone,
comprising premium content, remote commerce and point
of sale purchases via the wireless device will reach $9
billion by 2008.
