Mumba: 3 Global Services, part of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., a Fortune 500 company, is expanding its operations in India, which would require it to strengthen its staff strength by an additional 3,000 hands across operations.

The expanded work force will operate 3GS's varied functions ranging from sales and campaign management, customer care to value added services, and customer retention of 3GS'. Since the company handles over four million customers in Australia and the UK, it plans to give weightage to those with previous experience in the CRM industry.

Third generation technology, also known as 3G, facilitates the convergence of communication, information and entertainment. Customers can make a video call, download and watch music videos, watch live sports action and even leave video messages.

3 Global Services is based out of Mindspace, Mumbai. The company started CRM operations in March 2003 simultaneously in the UK and Australia. 3 Global Services currently has a strength of 3,500 in its two customer service centers and the company was among the first in India to adopt VoIP technology.
