Sharon Standifird served in the Gulf War and even climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, but when her children refused to answer her calls and texts on their cell phones, she developed an app to ensure that they would never do it again.

According to KTRK, the mother of two, worked for months with developers to create 'Ignore No More.''

With the app, parents can lock their children's devices using a special code and once locked the phone goes blank.

The child would then need to call their parent to unlock the phone.

The app is available for purchase for Android phones on Google Play for $1.99.

Standifird spent months liaising with developers to come up with the new app, which locks children's phones if they refuse to answer, mirror.co.uk reported.

The Android app is seen as the ultimate punishment for teenagers who want to avoid  parents trying to reach them.

If a call is ignored, a parent can use the app to lock their child's phone. It can only be unlocked if the youngster can retrieve a passcode from their parent.

Standifird, from Houston, Texas, came up with the idea after her son Bradley ignored her calls.

The app's website says, "When you lock your child's phone with Ignore No More your child has only two options - he or she can call you back, or call for an emergency responder."

The passcode is set by the parent, so once the phone was locked the child had to contact the parent to be able to use it again.

Bradley who was not too enthused by the app said, he thought it was a good idea for other kids, but not him.
