Collection, a subsidiary of MacGregor Golf Company, which is a leading worldwide
golf lifestyle apparel and accessories brand, has announced its entry into the
Indian retail market through a licensing & distribution agreement with Gurgaon-based
franchisee, Better Than Before (BTB) India. The
brand recently opened an exclusive store in New Delhi''s neighbourhood, Gurgaon. Greg
Norman Collection is a leader in golf-inspired apparel and accessories that targets
active, sophisticated men and women. The brand retails in over 21 countries around
the world. According
to a press release, BTB plans to set up 10 exclusive outlets for the Greg Norman
Collection by July 2008, and grow the number to 50 over the next five years. According
to Rahul Singh, CEO, Better Than Before (BTB), which is the sole licensee of Greg
Norman Collection in India, the sportswear market is growing at the rate of 20-25
per cent, with India as a key market for a sports lifestyle brand like Greg Norman
Collection. He
said the brand caters to brand and fashion conscious men and women, with active
lifestyles. With the growing popularity of Golf in India, along with the image
associated with it, he is optimistic about the growth of the brand in the country. BTB
is also mulling over introducing MacGregor golf equipment in Indian market in
the next phase through golf course pro-shops and sport specialty stores.
