Licences for 11 drug formulations withdrawn

The office of Drugs Controller General (India) has withdrawn licences for the production of 11 formulations manufactured by various drug companies across the country. The production licences for the formulations have been withdrawn after receipt of information from state licensing authorities.

The centre had directed state drug control authorities to be vigilant on the grant of licences for manufacture of drugs with same brand names being used for different drugs, minister of state for health and family welfare Dinesh Trivedi informed the Rajya Sabha today.

The formulation for which permissions have been withdrawn include:

Zocor Dry Syrup, Zocor Drops and Zocor-125 manufactured by Per Pharmaceuticals, 272, Indl Area, Phase-II, Panchkula;

Neogest-50 and Neogest-100 manufactured by Oscar Remedies Pvt Ltd, Oscar House, Baddi, Majara, Yamuna Nagar;

Metagesic Suspension and Metagesic Plus Syrup manufactured by Amree Pharmaceuticals, 1/10, Shiv Colony, Kaithal Road, Karnal;
