8 MoUs worth about Rs 100 crore signed

Hyderabad: The three-day Biotech Invest 2003, a global meet on strategic alliances and business opportunities concluded with a note of achievement.

The meet, which was organised with an objective of an interactive meet to facilitate global collaborations and alliances in research and development, licensing, strategic alliances, joint ventures resulted in eight memorandums of understanding worth approximately Rs 100 crore.

The companies those struck agreements include Novo Tera Foundation, USA, and Genotex India Pvt Ltd for the transfer of technology for products and processes in the areas of human, animal and plant health, specifically in the areas of cancer and other infectious diseases.

Another MoU was singed between Boitech International (BIT), USA, and DRA Systems, a Hyderabad-based company. Under this agreement BTI will provide guidelines for setting up data management components for clinical trials.

CiVenti Chem, USA, forged an alliance with Otira Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, another Hyderabad-based company. Under the agreement CiVenti will market Otira Acetamide in the US and will also provide OTIRA for developing process technologies for production of intermediaries.

BTI is also struck an understanding with Biowoice Knowledge Services, Hyderabad. As per their understanding BTI will help Biowoice Knowledge Services with placing of biotechnology trained students in the US as well as its software services.
