Mumbai: Deccan Aviation Ltd, which runs low cost carrier Air Deccan, in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday said that UB Group chairman Vijay Mallya had been co-opted as an additional director and vice-chairman of the board of the company. According to Deccan Aviation, at the company's board meeting it was decided to induct Vijay Mallya, AK Ravi Nedungadi and Hitesh Harshad Patel as additional directors with immediate effect. The new members would hold office until the ensuing annual general meeting. Mallya's UB Group had acquired a 26-per cent stake in Deccan Aviation in May this year, which it raised to 46 per cent through an open offer that ended earlier this month.
