GE to lease two Airbus aircrafts to Air Deccan

Chennai: GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) has announced leasing two narrow body Airbus A320 to Air Deccan.

According to GECAS, the aircrafts will be delivered to Air Deccan in January 2006. According to Tejpreet S Chopra, vice president marketing, "Including Air Deccan, we have leased aircrafts to 27 low-cost carriers around the world."

GECAS has a fleet of more than 1,300 owned aircraft and offers a full range of aircraft fleet, financing and productivity solutions to more than 200 airlines world-wide. It currently has more than $250 million in leased aircraft invested in India.

In addition to leased aircraft, GECAS provides commercial pilot training to Air Deccan through its GE Commercial Aviation Training (GECAT) unit. Air Deccan pilots are undertaking conversion training at GECAT's London training centres.

The two Airbus A-320s will take Air Deccan's fleet size to 22.
