Bentley launches fastest car in India

With a product profile consisting of the Bentley Arnage, the Continental GT and now the Flying Spur, Bentley Motors has introduced only top-end saloons in India so far.

Ian Gorsuch, regional director West Asia, Africa and India, Bentley Motors, said, "We have long term plans for the Indian market and will stay focused on our high-end saloon." He added that the company experienced over 400 per cent growth in the Indian market over the past year.

The Bentley Continental Flying Spur', priced at Rs 1.7 crore, is powered by a six-litre engine. It can travel at a maximum speed of 312km an hour going from zero to 0-96 km an hour in 4.9 seconds.

The car's 12-cylinder engine produces 552 bhp of power and 479 lb/ft of torque at 1,600 rpm, making it easy to drive at low speeds also.

The Continental Spur is named after the 1957 four-door Continental Flying Spur. The four-door version of the earlier Continental GT, the latest addition to the Bentley stable shares the same platform with its sister but has a longer chassis.

The car is available through Delhi-based Exclusive Motors Pvt Ltd. The company plans to operate through the exclusive dealership model in India as it operates globally the same way.
