Union Budget 2013-14: government to float Rs50,000 crore tax-free bonds news

Finance minister P Chidambaram today said his ministry will approve Rs50,000 crore of tax-free bonds in the upcoming fiscal year. The government expects to raise Rs25,000 crore through tax-free bonds in the just-ending financial year 2012-13.

According to a Budget announcement, IIFCL will give credit enhancement to companies. The finance minister said infra debt funds will be encouraged going forward.

Interest subvention on farm loans repaid on time will continue, he told the Lok Sabha.
