Mumbai:
Zone
Vision, the global producer and distributor of thematic
channels, is further building its European presence with
a deal to launch the hit Reality TV channel in Germany
for the first time on cable network platform ISH as well
as a German documentary channel Planet this month.
The
channel has been snapped up by ISH for its popular Active
packages. The deal extends Reality TV's European penetration
and highlights the company's pre-eminent position as a
leading digital broadcaster.
The
German documentary channel Planet is to launch daily blocks
of dramatic and compelling programming from Reality TV.
The branded blocks will feature on all major platforms
in the German speaking territories reaching over 2 million
subscribers and mark the expansion of the Reality TV brand
into the German market.
This
follows a period of intense expansion for the Reality
TV brand worldwide with recent launches in the US and
Asia Pacific. In India the channel is fast gaining popularity
and is now beamed into 15 million households across the
country.
The
channel is distributed in India by Zee Turner, the distribution
alliance between Zee Telefilms Ltd and Turner International.
Reality TV is successfully reaching all corners of the
globe providing thrills, spills and unbeatable round-the-clock
entertainment value 365 days of the year. The channel
is now available to more than 35 million subscribers in
over 125 territories worldwide.
Says
Zone Vision president Chris Wronski: "Western Europe
is a major focus for us following successful launches
in the US and Asia as we aim to make Reality TV a global
brand. Our tie-up with ISH and branded block of programming
on Planet is a big step in Reality TV's expansion into
Germany. This will give our brand name a head-start as
we close distribution agreements with German platforms
in the coming months."
"Reality-based
programming with in-depth investigations is an important
part of a diverse documentary channel like Planet. This
is why we selected the programming from Reality TV and
chose to broadcast it with the Reality TV logo to emphasize
to our viewers that this is a new and different type of
documentary content," says Zone Vision managing director
James W Wells.
