Mumbai: Wipro Limited has announced a global strategic alliance with US-based EMC Corporation, to address customers'' information infrastructure requirements. The alliance will expand the reach of both the companies in the $60 billion worldwide information infrastructure market.

"The alliance unites Wipro''s applied innovation framework for developing new solutions and services around EMC''s industry-leading information infrastructure technologies to enable more organisations, specifically in targeted growth markets, to optimise their infrastructures, secure and protect their information and leverage them to unlock its full potential", a Wipro statement said.

Wipro and EMC will explore collaboration of industry and application-specific solutions in key business areas that solve customer needs related to storage management, information management, content management, and information security.

"Wipro and EMC bring together extensive experience and presence to expand relationships with existing customers and acquire new ones in both emerging and developed markets", it said.

To further enable this alliance, EMC intends to help certify more than 1,000 Wipro practice resources on EMC technologies to support pre-sales, delivery, and solution development.

Financial terms of the partnership were not announced.
