Tech Mahindra Ltd today reported a 5 per cent growth in net profit after tax and 3 per cent increase in revenue for Q4 FY09 over the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The company reported consolidated net profit after tax of Rs230.4 crore for Q4 FY09 as against Rs218.7 crore (before exceptional items) in Q4 FY08. The company reported a revenue of Rs1,051.3 crore for Q4 FY09 as against Rs1021.8 crore in Q4 FY08. Total income for the quarter, however, was lower at Rs1,019.31 crore against Rs1,026.29 crore in the year-ago quarter. Tech Mahindra Limited, one of the largest solution providers in the telecom space, announced a 19 per cent growth in the consolidated revenues and a 32 per cent growth in the consolidated net profit for the full year ending March 2009. The company reported a consolidated revenue of Rs4,464.7 crore against Rs3766.1 crore in the previous year. Consolidated net profit grew to Rs1,014.5 crore from Rs770 crore (before exceptional items). During the quarter, the company derived 25 per cent, 67 per cent and 8 per cent of its revenues from the US, Europe and ROW respectively. Tech Mahindra consolidated head count was 24,972 in March 2009. ''We continue to deliver value to our customers in a challenging global environment. We will focus on converting these adverse conditions into opportunities for future growth,'' Anand Mahindra, chairman, Tech Mahindra, said. ''This has been a quarter where our focus on efficiency and cost has helped us maintain profitability in spite of headwinds in the form of currency depreciation and overall economic slowdown,'' Vineet Nayyar, vice chairman and MD, Tech Mahindra, said.
