Satyam Plans to start operations in Brazil

Mumbai: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE: SAY), has announced its plans to start its operations in São Paulo, Brazil. Satyam has so far been servicing the Latin American markets from the US.

Announcing the companies plans to senior executives from a wide range of Brazilian organisations, Ramalinga Raju, chairman, Satyam said, "Latin America is a fascinating market for us. We will be investing substantially in this market over the next 12 months - we see this market as playing a significant role in the global economy over the next 50 years. Furthermore, establishing a presence in Brazil expands our global abilities."

Ram Mynampati, president, Satyam, (healthcare and commercial businesses) said, "Our initial focus will be to build a strong team and take advantage of the high-quality of talent available in this market. We hope to bring the same quality of employment and opportunity to our Brazilian colleagues that we provide in our other operations world-wide, and expect to have a team of 100 associates in place in the next 6-12 months."

Satyam plans to make its entire range of global sourcing services available to companies in this region and delivering technology-intensive solutions for business transformations to sectors as diverse as financial services, insurance, healthcare and manufacturing.

Satyam already works with over 109 of the Fortune 500 companies, including 6 out of the top ten of those companies. The Satyam network spans 45 countries and six continents, with more than 16,800 dedicated and highly skilled IT professionals employed by the company worldwide
