Reliance Industries wins Hikal Cup

Mumbai: The Hikal Cup has been won by Srinath Ramamurthy, Vikram Sampat and K.Ramamurthy of Reliance Industries Limited, They beat DS Mathur, Narendra Nath and Prasad of HPCL Refineries in the finals played at the Bombay Gymkhana.

The three-day tennis tournament from February 20th to February 22nd 2004 had 32 blue-chip corporates vying with each other for the prestigious Hikal Cup. These include Reliance Industries, Tatas, BSNL, Ernst&Young, MTNL, Kotak Mahindra, HSBC, Deolite Haskins, Exim Bank, HPCL, Hikal, Rabo India and Indian Navy.

Nandan Bal, Davis Cup Capitan & Coach, columnist Anil Dharker played against R.Gopalkrishnan, Executive Director, TATA Sons and Vinod Ramachandran, Former member of Davis Cup Squad, in an exhibition match.
