Parryware Roca commissions new plant

Chennai: Parryware Roca Pvt Ltd's new Rs60-plant at Perundurai was inaugurated on 28 August, 2006. The new plant — the company's fourth — has a capacity of 4.5 million pieces per annum and propels the company to the top 10 global sanitaryware manufacturers. The plant, employing 500 people, would cater to the southern markets and exports.

The boom in the Indian housing sector, owing to many positive factors, is an opportune moment for Parryware to expand its facilities and cater to the increasing demand for sanitaryware products in India, said, A. Vellayan, chairman, Parryware Roca.

The new manufacturing facility brings home the world's latest technology like high pressure casting, environment control systems and state- of- the art kilns for efficient firing of products.

The company ended financial year 2006 with revenues close to Rs240 crore, with a market share of around 42 per cent in the organised sector market estimated at around Rs300 crore. The overall market sanitaryware market is estimated to be in the region of Rs750 crore.

Parryware currently has three sanitaryware manufacturing facilities, in Ranipet, Alwar and Dewas.
