major Wipro and Motorola have formed a JV, known as WMNetServ,
with Wipro holding 80.1 per cent stake and Motorola the
rest, for devising telecom solutions..

L Rao, COO of Wipro recently told the media that the JV
would deliver cost effecitive telecom-managed services
to Motorola''s clients globally. The JV combines the tools
and technologies of Motorola with Wipro''s scalability,
global delivery model and market reach, represented by
the company''s large resource pool.
The new company effectively offers outsourcing in telecom-managed
services to operators, while managed services include
network planning, network deployment, network design,
network optimisation and maintenance services.
WMNetServ
will host a global network operation centre (GNOC) platform
that will integrate seamlessly with Motorola''s existing
NOCs in North America and Europe to provide 24/7 network
monitoring capabilities to customers.
Meanwhile, Motorola has also entered into a JV with Tech
Mahindra, to be christened CanvasM, to develop and deliver
innovative application solutions. The new company will
enable network service providers and enterprises to launch
and manage the deployment of applications that will help
increase their differentiation, shorten time to revenue,
and reduce total cost of ownership.
"CanvasM
will implement end-user applications and content services,
consistent service creation, and a delivery and management
framework utilizing Motorola''s Global Applications Management
Architecture (GAMA)," the companies said in a statement,
adding that the JV will deliver customised applications.
