Maruti announces price increases across all models

New Delhi: Market leader Maruti Udyog Limited has announced an increase in the prices of all its models. The increase, which comes into effect from today, varies from Rs1,500 to Rs15,000 on various models.

The company had earlier increased prices in October 2005. The price increase was due to increase in input costs and freight costs, which went up following the rise in oil prices.

The company had decided to pass on only a part of the impact of increase in freight costs and other input costs to the customers then and had indicated that another price revision may be undertaken in early 2006.
