Bangalore:
Lufthansa German Airlines will operate two additional
flights between Bangalore and Frankfurt, starting from
June 2003.
The airlines currently
offers 23 scheduled weekly flights, linking four major
Indian cities with Frankfurt, Germany: daily flights to/from
New Delhi and Mumbai; six weekly flights to/from Chennai
(increased from three to six weekly flights as of 1 April
2003), all with Boeing 747-400 aircraft; and three weekly
flights to/from Bangalore with Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
LH 755 from Bangalore
to Frankfurt will operate daily except for Thursdays and
Saturdays.
With the addition
of these two weekly Bangalore-Frankfurt flights under
the temporary Open Sky Policy, Lufthansa will therefore
offer a total of 25 weekly flights to/from India, providing
extra capacity to meet the increasing air traffic demand
during the peak season especially to/from South India.
Says
Lufthansa general manager (South Asia) Harald Hahn: "We
are encouraged by the stable traffic growth between India
and Germany, and we are pleased to get the chance to increase
the number of flights connecting South India."
Lufthansa will
operate A340-300 aircraft with a three-class configuration
on this route, offering eight seats in the first class,
42 in the business class and 197 seats in the economy
class.
