LG unveils Diwali bonanza news

Mumbai: With the festive season round the corner, LG Electronics, the leading durable and electronics brand in India, is all set to take the market by storm.

Armed with the clear-cut objective of encouraging customers to switch to new generation products, LG has launched its mega consumer offer for Diwali - 'Patakha Ghumao Inam Pao' - starting from 25 September to 31 October 2003.

This unique promotion entails assured gifts on every purchase of an LG colour television, direct cool refrigerator, frost-free refrigerator, air-conditioner, semi-automatic washing machine, fully-automatic washing machine and MY PC.

Consumers can win various attractive gifts ranging from a flatron television, semi-automatic washing machine, frost-free refrigerator, window AC with remote, microwave oven, home theatre audio system, MY PC, branded t-shirts, bags and emergency lights.

Over and above this, there are 80 bumper prizes to be won worth Rs 1 lakh, each which includes a basket of all LG products called 'LG Healthy Home Jackpot'. In total, LG is offering more than 7,50,000 gifts as part of this festive offer.

The promotion involves a mega budget of over Rs 60 crore, which includes spends on the print and electronic media, below the line activities and the gifts. Customers can avail of the offer at all LG exclusive shops and LG authorised counters.

Says LG Electronics marketing head Anil Arora: "Confident of adding spice to the festive season, LG has launched this nationwide consumer promotion. The innovative scheme is part of our concerted efforts to reward our existing consumers and trade partners for their loyalty shown to the LG brand.

"We aim at selling more than 10 lakh products in the period (September to October) 2003, which will result in a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore. This will be a 54-per cent growth over the festive season last year. LG India is expecting to achieve a 63-per cent value growth in the electronics category, a 44-per cent value growth in appliances and a 36-per cent growth in the IT category at the end of October 2003."
