Larsen & Toubro Ltd has received a Rs200-crore order from UAE-based project developer, Nakheel, to build a prestigious residential project in Dubai''s upmarket Jhumeira island.

The project will be executed by ECC, the construction division of L&T, and marks its growing presence in the Middle East construction market.

The project involves construction of luxury villas and associated infrastructure facilities including a clubhouse and children''s play area at the upmarket Jhumeira Islands.

The entire construction of the project is scheduled to be completed in 548 days from the date of commencement and involves the construction of 31 luxury villas.

The scope of the project also includes building the associated infrastructure facilities consisting of roads and services, pedestrian overpass, clubhouse with recreational facilities, children''s play area and complete landscaping.

Nakheel, a leading project developer in UAE, is involved in several major property development projects with investments to the tune of $ 12 billion in Dubai. Nakheel has to its credit a variety of landmark structures in Dubai.

This is the third project from Nakheel being awarded to L&T. The previous projects are the Middle bridges on the trunk of the Palm Jhumeira Island Development, which has already been executed, and the Mogul Gardens.
