Mumbai: Gearless scooter pioneer and leading manufacturer, Kinetic Motor Company has decided to take a bigger bite of the student driven scooterette pie by launching the stylish, peppy and feature-packed scooterette, Zing 80, priced upto Rs7,000 lower over its competition to appeal to the young collegian community, its target buyer.
Zing 80 expects to build on the success of the popular Kinetic Zing and the company expects it to go straight to the top of the scooterette sales chart. Within 18 months of launch, the Zing has captured around 25 per cent market share in the scooterette segment in key locations, which the company hopes to. The Zing has been rated among top three two-wheelers in India,. The new Zing 80 features a more powerful engine with improved acceleration, power and torque, and improved aesthetics. It features bigger tyres for more stability, a twin-texture seat cover, new headlight case, MFR indicator lenses, aluminum folding type ladies foot rest. It retains the unique features of the Zing such as a mobile phone charge point, cola can holder; and is equipped with electric start and gearless transmission. Announcing the launch of the new Zing 80, Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, joint managing director, Kinetic said, "With the Zing 80¸ we have brought the perfect little scooterette for the Indian market. I am confident that the Zing's performance, new styling and features at a great price will be very appreciated by the Indian consumer." Kinetic has lined up an aggressive promotion plan for Zing to tap into the youth segment, Such as signing on all the leading VJs from MTV to promote Zing 80. The Zing 80 is priced at an attractive value price of approximately Rs29,084. (on road, Mumbai), which gives it an advantage of upto Rs7,000 over its competition.
