Mumbai: With no drop in demand for its collector's item, the 250cc Aquila, Kinetic Engineering has announced that the third limited-edition Kinetic Aquila will be available for sale in select cities across India.

The smallest of Hyosung's two-wheelers (the Hyosung range is concentrated in the 500cc plus range of motorcycles) Aquila has been positioned as a "true" cruiser bike, fitted with a 250cc v-twin, oil cooled engine with 4 valves per cylinder. With an output of 26 bhp of power and a top speed easily crossing 130 kmph, the bike bears a price tag of Rs 1.75 lakh.

The company had brought 100 pieces of the Aquila for a one-time sale as a collector's item at a special price of Rs 1,50,000. However, the bike met with such an overwhelming demand that Hyosung was requested for a second batch. However, the Korean company was able to supply only another 40 pieces at a higher price. In all, there will be under 150 Kinetic Aquilas on Indian roads.

Arun Firodia, chairman, Kinetic Group said, "It's a matter of pride for Kinetic to be able to bring the country's fastest and most advanced cruiser. We have been in long discussions with Hyosung so that we can offer the Aquila at this attractive price tag to the consumer."

Now a Rs 1200 crore group, Kinetic entered the personal transport segment with the launch of its popular moped, Luna, in 1974. Kinetic also introduced in the indian market scooters with electric ignition and variomatic gearless transmission.

The Hyosung Corporation, with an annual turnover in excess of US $4 billion (Rs 18,000 crore), is one of the top 10 conglomerates of South Korea. Hyosung manufactures a wide range of two-wheelers, with up to 1100cc capacity, and is a leading exporter across the globe.
