Infotech Enterprises, IBM enter into agreement to provide PLM and engineering solutions

Infotech Enterprises says it entered in to the deal with IBM through its wholly owned subsidiary InfoTech Enterprises America, Inc.

The combination of IBMs global manufacturing industry knowledge, large middleware portfolio and customer relationships along with Infotech's engineering and consulting engineering abilities, will enable the two to address a wide range of PLM implementation and integration needs.

The agreement provides a framework for offering consulting, solutions and integration services by leveraging their combined global delivery capabilities and expertise to suit specific client and market requirements. IBM and the Infotech will provide project management enterprise integration, design engineering and software technology capabilities to support a wide range of PLM application platforms, ranging from CAE, CAD / CAM / PDM, to SCM and MRO.

Infotech cites NASSCOM estimates that say global spending for engineering services is currently estimated at $750 billion per year and by 2020 the figure is expected to increase to more than $1 trillion.
