Chennai: Hinduja TMT (HTMT) has announced that the company has renewed its business process outsourcing (BPO) contract with a major healthcare insurance company in the US.

The claim-processing contract has been renewed for two years with an option for further renewal of one year and is likely to yield approximately Rs 100 crore (over $20 million) in revenues during this period.

The BPO unit of HTMT for the client has grown from 20 processors in August 2000 to 450 now, starting with one product and presently processing six products from the healthcare major. The client is one of the leading providers of healthcare, dental, pharmacy, group life, disability and long-term care products.

Says HTMT vice-chairman S Solomon Raj: "This is an affirmation by the client of the quality of service provided by us. We have been able to deliver, meet and exceed the expectations of our customers."

HTMT has initiated Six Sigma processes in its BPO unit in partnership with KPMG. The company is already ISO 9001-certified across all IT business units — BPO, contact centre and IT services. Its quality initiatives are aimed at meeting the goals of cost, schedule, functionality and product quality for producing higher levels of customer satisfaction.

HTMT's IT division has its delivery centres in Bangalore and Mumbai and has global presence through its offices in the US, the UK and France. HTMT has world-class infrastructure in line with global standards of environment, resources and deliverables.

The differentiator of HTMT is that it offers ITES and software development services with capability to provide end-to-end solutions to its customers. The company also plays the role of a corporate parent to its subsidiaries in the media and telecommunication space.

New businesses
HTMT has also signed up contracts with three major customers, out of which two are for call centres — one from UK Telecom Service Provider and another from a US-based broadband DSL and Internet company. The third contract is from a leading provider of claim reporting and customer services for auto insurance, property liability and workers' compensation in the US.
