Given the strong demand for small cars in India, Hyundai is reportedly set to release a new, low-priced car on the lines of the popular Maruti 800.

The car is said to come with a price tag of Rs2 lakh, which is lower than the cost of the i10, the company's current bestseller.

Hyundai will soon showcase the car, which has received a very good response in Korea. The company has not given details of the model but the product is supposed to be a petrol variant with an 800 cc engine.

Hyundai hopes its latest offering to give its peers in the segment like Nissan, Ford and Renault-Nissan-Bajaj and others a run for their money.
