Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) is recalling 1,338 units of its sedan Accord and Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) CR-V to replace passenger side air bag inflator.

About 6.09 lakh vehicles have been recalled so far in the country, after Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) initiated voluntary recall policy for safety reasons in July 2012.

HCIL is recalling 1,085 Honda Accord vehicles and 252 units of Honda CR-V manufactured in Year 2003 and a CR-V manufactured in 2002.

HCIL is carrying out the part replacement as part of a global exercise by Honda Motor Company to ensure stringent quality standards for its products. There has been no reporting of any incident related to this part in India, HCIL said in a statement.

The replacement would be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships in a phased manner and the company will communicate with contactable customers directly.

The company's product range includes Honda Brio, Honda Amaze, Honda City and Honda CR-V.
