According
to a report in the German weekly WirtschaftsWoche, DaimlerChrysler plans
to phase out its Mercedes-Benz A-class compact from its premium brand production
range, which was the first front-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz passenger car model.
The report
cited unnamed sources at Daimler, as having said that the model would be phased
out due to the next planned model revamp scheduled in 2011. Mercedes-Benz
declined comment calling the report a speculation. Nicknamed
"Baby Benz", the A-class is the smallest Mercedes-Benz car, and has
been
