Berger Paints Q1 net rises 16 per cent to Rs37 crore

Berger Paints India Limited has reported a 16 per cent increase in its fiscal first quarter (April-June 2011) net profit, amidst record 30 per cent growth in revenues.

Net profit for the quarter ended on 30 June 2011 was Rs37 crore against Rs32 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, an increase of 16 per cent year-on-year.

Earnings per share (EPS) during the quarter improved to Rs1.07 from Re0.92 in the previous quarter.

Net sales for the quarter ended 30 June 2011 was up 30 per cent at Rs693 crore, against Rs532 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Earnings before depreciation, interest and tax (EBDIT) for the quarter ended 30 June 2011 was Rs71 crore against Rs62 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, representing an increase of 14.5 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous year.

On a standalone basis, net sales of Berger Paints India Limited for the quarter ended 30 June 2011 was Rs641 crore against Rs491crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, representing an increase of 31 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous year.

Net profit for the quarter ended 30 June 2011 was Rs41 crore, against Rs37 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year, representing an increase of 11 per cent year-on-year.
