Mumbai:
Bajaj Tempo, the leading automobile manufacturer, has
once again showed an impressive growth in sales in the
month of October 2003-04. The 36-per cent growth in sales
for the first half ended 30 September 2003 has been topped
by high gains in the month of October against the same
period last year.
Sales
of all four-wheeled vehicles of the company have shown
a substantial growth of 38 per cent (1165 numbers in October
of FY 03-04 as against 841 numbers in October of FY 02-03).
Additionally,
the four-wheelers have witnessed a significant increase
of 23 per cent by registering sales of 2,858 units compared
to 2,324 units recorded in October of the last financial
year.
Tempo''s
Balwan range of hi-tech tractors have also seen an increase
of 41 per cent (464 numbers in October of FY 03-04 as
against 329 numbers in October of FY 02-03) despite non-receipt
of certifications due to a delay from the government.
The
company sources have attributed the growth to product
innovation supplemented substantially by an increased
thrust on strengthening the sales channel and aggressive
promotional activities.
