InterfaceFLOR launches introduces modular carpets from recycled yarn

Called the Convert collection, the new product is a "groundbreaking new category of modular carpet, – the first one that is manufactured with a full colour spectrum of post consumer (recycled) yarn, harvested through InterfaceFLOR's ReEntry 2.0 recycling programme, the company said.

InterfaceFLOR also said that this was a first in the industry, and its variety of patterns and colours was creating a big impact among designers around the world!
The company is a 100-per cent subsidiary of modular commercial flooring manufacturer, InterfaceFLOR.

At the heart of Convert is InterfaceFLOR's ability to recycle – or ''reinyarnate'' – all nylon face fiber into a clean stream of recycled nylon. With this technology, InterfaceFLOR is aggressively recycling both its own as well as its competitors' old carpets into InterfaceFLOR Convert. The Convert collection has the largest recycled content (as high as 72 per cent) among any carpets available.

Designed by David Oakey, the Convert collection shows how beautiful recycled content can be – old dirty carpets transformed into sophisticated and appealing designs debunking the myth that reclaimed and recycled cannot be beautiful. It is also another large step towards InterfaceFLOR's Mission Zero promise to eliminate any negative impact on the environment by 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Neel Bradham, senior vice president, sales and marketing for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, InterfaceFLOR, said, ''Just as modular tile signalled a new day in the flooring industry, and i2 taught the world about biomimicry, Convert is our third major step in redesigning design. By making life cycle analysis the primary consideration in our design, we are creating beautiful and sustainable solutions that last a lifetime and propel us towards 'mission zero' ''.

The Convert range has 13 patterns in four to 24 colorways including the textured solid What Goes Around, intertwining Reissued, striated Fresh Start, and a pair of linear patterns, Reincarnation and Rags to Riches and will now be available to customers in India. InterfaceFLOR India offices located at Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad will provide support to customers.
