Jaguar shows teaser of the new 2010 XJ model

Just like the Jaguar wild cat, which is difficult to spot, Jaguar Cars Ltd, maker of the marquee car Jaguar, showed a first-teaser glimpse of what the new generation Jaguar 2010XJ would look like, when it released a picture of new luxury saloon ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show yesterday.

After having kept the details of the car under tight wrap for many months, Jaguar only revealed an overhead picture of the car along with a few skimpy details.

The Coventry, UK-based car manufacturer, seems to have made a major redesign of its flagship car since the all-new XJ will be the first car to have the next-generation of Jaguar's aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture featuring a panoramic glass roof starting from the windshield onwards.

All of Jaguar's new ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new XJ, including the already acclaimed V6 diesel and 510 bhp supercharged V8.

The car will be available in long and standard wheel-base including the new 3.0-litre diesel offered in the XF.

Jaguar-Land Rover chief executive David Smith said that the 2010 XJ will be absolutely stunning while Paul Cope, the group manufacturing director said that the appeal of the new car will make rivals like Mercedes and BMW look like yesterday's cold potatoes.
