Renault's compact crossover SUV Koleos to go on sale from 6 June 2008

Mumbai: Renault Koleos, the first compact crossover SUV manufactured by French car maker Renault SA, will go on sale from 6 June 2008. The 4x4 Koleos delivers the same standard of comfort of a saloon car, as well as cabin space worthy of a compact multi purpose vehicle (MPV), according to Renault.

The car is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The 2.0 dCi Euro 4 diesel engine is  is available in a choice of  150hp or 175hp with either a six-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission. The 2.0 dCi 150hp engine can be ordered for either the 4x2 or 4x4 versions

The petrol variant comes with a 2.5 170hp engine with a standard six-speed gerabox and / or continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Features such as a hands-free card, front and rear parking assist, voice recognition navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic dual-zone and climate control makes it a comfortable, easy-to-drive vehicle, not  essentially committed to off-road use only.

Automatic folding rear seats with almost 70 litres of storage space and split-opening tailgate, showcases the practical side of Koleos' highly modular interior.

Koleos has been designed to be versatile, with the all-wheel drive alliance-developed transmission, which offers the same reassuring drive when motoring in the city, on open roads or on motorways. The 4x2 and 4x4 modes are automatically controlled by the 'All mode 4x4-i' system first seen on Nissan's new X-Trail. The 4x2 and 4x4 modes can also be selected manually.
