Flight Simulation Division was formed in the year 1977 to develop various simulator technologies  and Flight Simulators for Indian  armed forces.

Though the initial focus was on to develop full mission ab-initio training simulators for the novice pilots, the  development of country’s prestigious Light Combat Aircraft programme has compelled ADE to take up the task of developing Engineering Simulators  for the new Aircraft under design. 

Later on, when  IAF undertook the task of carrying out mid-life upgrade of several Fighter Aircraft specifically to meet the modern war game requirements, Avionics Part Task Trainers were designed and developed.
