Budget carrier SpiceJet has announced a 3-day Super Summer Sale, under which the airline is offering up to 75 per cent reduction in all domestic fares for the summer vacation period.

The sale of tickets will start at 00:01 hours on Monday, 24 February 2014 and end at 23:59 hours on Wednesday, 26 February 2014. The offer is valid for travel between 1 April 2014 and 30 June 2014, SpiceJet said in a web site announcement.

This is the third time in the last one month that the Kalanithi Maran-promoted carrier has slashed fares for early summer bookings.

"Super Summer Sale offers up to 75 per cent off base fare plus fuel surcharge relative to last minute fares, for travel between April 1 and June 30, 2014," the airline said.

SpiceJet said its two earlier schemes had met with overwhelming success and the new scheme also aims at making those seats available to passengers at highly discounted advance purchase rates which would otherwise go empty.

"We received overwhelming positive feedback from customers who booked the earlier - Super Sales- for taking the lead in making air travel more affordable, where travellers can now book more spontaneously and more often by air, and also for attracting many first time travellers," SpiceJet chief operating officer Sanjiv Kapoor said.

These advance purchase offers are a win-win for customers, for airlines, and for the travel industry, he said.

Super Summer Sale is not valid for infant or group bookings (10 passengers or more traveling together) and cannot be clubbed with any other existing offer.

Super Summer Sale is available on spicejet.com, online travel portals, and through travel agents, but is not available through SpiceJet's sales and reservation centre or at the airport ticketing offices, the airline said.

SpiceJet said it reserved the right to modify, alter, amend or change any of the terms and conditions made applicable to the programme at any time without notice and it also reserves the right to withdraw the offer without prior notice.
