Tata-Changi Airports consortium to bid for airport projects around the country

CAI regional vice-president, Ng Tim Peng, said on Monday, "We have not received the bid documents yet but we have been asked to submit the expression of interest.

"We are not sure if it is BOT (build-operate-transfer) or BOO (build-own-operate)," he told reporters on the sidelines of the 3rd Aviation and Tourism Investors Summit here.

"We want to see what bid model the state government want us to participate in, (and) if the concession is too short we may reject it," he said.

Ng added that CAI would take into consideration the availability of infrastructure, the catchment area and the passenger profile before arriving at a decision.

"We can sell the Changi budget terminal model, (which) has been very successful and we believe it is a suitable model for these kinds of airports in India," he added.

Ng also said that under a memorandum of understanding CAI would work with the Tata's, a diversified Indian industrial group, for all airport related development and investments in the Indian sub-continent.
