Bangalore: EADS, parent company of Airbus, and Bangalore-based Jupiter Aviation & Logistics are in talks for the setting-up of a freighter conversion facility in the country. The plant would be developed on the lines of the Germany-based aircraft conversion firm EFW.

According to reports, negotiations are still going on between the two firms, with details such as final investment, location, equity structure and business model yet to be finalised. It is estimated that the facility, which will undertake domestic and international projects, may require investments of US$100 million.

Jupiter's chief executive and managing director S Ravi Narayanan has declined to comment, saying it would be premature to do so.
